I value the development of the whole-child. I am passionate about trying to figure out the underlying factors that inhibit a child’s ability to make progress in their daily life. Becoming a mother of three boys and being surrounded by new parents increased my love for working with children and their families. My over ten years of experience has given me invaluable tools to help each unique child reach their full potential. On my free time, I enjoy going to the beach with my family, cooking, playing tennis, practicing yoga, and traveling.

I love helping children learn about their environment using their senses. Having two children, and a daughter born with a congenital heart defect, I understand the depth of love and tenacity parents hold for their children. My greatest satisfaction comes from watching the clients I work with achieve their goals using a family-centered approach. Seeing a child and their parents smile together is something that never gets old. Together with my family I love to spend time at the river, camping, beach, and exploring nature whenever possible.

I am an occupational therapist with a diverse set of skills and deep knowledge in both pediatric and adult occupational therapy, with over 20 years of experience. I spent the first 15 years of my career working with adults in various settings with a focus in neurologic rehabilitation and orthopedics. Seven years and two children later, I transitioned into the world of pediatric occupational therapy. I believe in collaborating with parents to determine how to best support their child’s development. I love to play as much as the children I work with! My family and I are passionate about nature, traveling, and being active. I have been an indoor cycling instructor for over 10 years and truly enjoy being able to facilitate health and wellness for people of all ages.

I also love working with children on building skills necessary to participate in meal-time both safely and enjoyably. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my son grow and experience the world for the first time. I also like to practice yoga, travel, hike, rock climb and mountain bike.

I enjoy pediatric occupational therapy because we get to work on family driven goals, in a fun and playful manner to assist the development of children. Most of my experience has been in an acute rehabilitation hospital working with children as young as infancy to early adulthood. My favorite part of being an occupational therapist is seeing the excitement a child and their families have when they achieve a new skill. In my free time I love spending time at the beach, paddle boarding, and barbecuing with my family and friends.

Strengths: Proactive, Quality-Oriented, Dependable
I am passionate about making a positive impact in family’s lives. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I love helping children and their families learn to communicate more effectively. I thoroughly enjoy the intricate and creative dance of communication. I take a holistic, collaborative approach to therapy and combine my expertise in the areas of language, cognition, articulation, fluency and voice with parent’s wisdom to determine the best treatment plans for children. I love seeing children grow into who they are as they learn to navigate their world through language and the blossoming of family and community relationships. Speech and Language Pathologist
Kathleen Boggan Zierhut
Strengths: Quality-Oriented, Caring, Inventive
I am mid-life career changer who discovered speech and language pathology when my own daughter struggled to communicate. A communication disability affects the whole family, and I enjoy assisting families with strategies they can use in their daily lives. For beginning communicators, I teach total communication: gestures, signs, facial expressions, pictures, and devices as needed. My continuing education has focused on meeting the needs of children with autism spectrum disorder, along with teaching the use of AAC (Assistive and Alternative Communication) as a bridge to verbal communication. When I am not working, I love to do yoga (so I can keep getting down on the floor with the little ones!), go hiking, read novels, and play a variety of board games with family and friends.

Strengths: Sincere, Dependable, Caring
I am excited to be working with such a collaborative team at Infinity Kids. I used to teach psychology, but after my child was diagnosed with special needs at a young age I was introduced to the wonderful world of speech therapy, and 13 years later went back to school to become a speech therapy assistant. I have experience working with school-age children whose challenges range from mild to profound. I am committed to helping children be the best that they can be by building up their language skills through play-based speech therapy and intervention. I have lived in Lake Forest for over 19 years with my husband and two children. In my spare time, I love to cook, garden, catch up on my favorite TV shows and spend time with family.
